Kate is a pianist and singer. She studied classical piano in Glasgow, Dublin and Paris, before falling in love with singing folk songs at parties. She had a go a at singing jazz standards and playing in her pal’s bands before deciding to write her own material. Of all of the musicians who inspire her, Debussy, Agnes Obel, Nils Frahm, Chopin, Eric Whitacre, Julia Houlter, James Blake, Perfume Genius, Lau, The Roches and Nadia Reid do so the most. She currently lives in the Southside of Glasgow with her husband, wee girl and Babs the cat.
